The performance is a public artistic performance to ask ourselves if we forget any of our neighbors in the age of pandemics. Live streaming performance that Survival Diary co-created by the Salad members will be completed by residents and migrants, the performance audience. Salad will demonstrate the performance titled Breathe!, connecting with Theather’s artists who are currently staying in the Philippines, Mongolia, and Korea, via Zoom. A live broadcasting studio will be located in an open theater of Marronnier Park, and a film shot by the broadcasting team and Zoom video will be edited in real-time to be broadcasted via Theater Salad’s Youtube channel. We’re inviting 30 audiences who will join the Zoom video conference. We’ll show highlights of survival diaries sent by Salad members so far, too.

Early march in 2020, some Salad members couldn’t help but be stuck in their home due to COVID 19 pandemic. Some members cannot visit their home while others cannot come back to Korea. Is it feasible for them to stage a performance this November? Video journals that they have been sending develop a storyline. This is a live and vivid artwork. Can every one of us survive to the last? Can we be on a stage alive?

2020년 3월, 코로나19로 인한 팬데믹 때문에 샐러드 극단의 단원들이 고향에 발이 묶여 한국으로 들어올 수 없게 됐다.

어떤 단원은 고향을 방문할 수 없고, 어떤 단원은 한국에 입국할 수 없다.

오는 2020년 11월 21일 그들이 한국에서 공연을 하는 것이 가능할까?

그들이 보내오는 비디오 일기가 공연의 줄거리를 만든다. 이것은 살아서 꿈틀거리는 예술 작품. 우리 모두 끝까지 살아남을 수 있을까?

왜 생존일기인가?

코로나19(Covid-19)로 샐러드 극단 단원 중 일부는 본국에서 입국하지 못하고 대기 중인 상태로 오랜 시간을 보냈다. 코로나 19를 피해 갈 수 있는 사람은 세상 어디에도 없다. 팬데믹 상황이 계속해서 연장되고 현지 한국 대사관 영사과의 비자발급도 중단됐다. 박경주 대표는 단원들이 기약 없는 내일의 상황에 대해 안부를 주고받기 위해 영상일기를 교환하기 시작했다. 11월 21일 대학로 공연까지 모두 다 건강한 상태라는 확신도 없었다. 그렇게 영상일기의 제목은 ‘생존일기’가 됐다. 6월부터 꾸준하게 보내온 단원들의 생존일기 영상은 아카이브로 축적됐다. 팬데믹 시대를 넘어가는 샐러드 구성원의 일상이 살아 꿈틀거리기 시작했다. 오는 2020년 11월 19일부터 22일까지 대학로 마로니에 야외극장에서 진행될 다원예술 공연 ‘생존일기’가 그 결과물이다.

샐러드가 제작하고GKL사회공헌 재단이 후원하는 ‘생존일기’ 공연은 오는 11월 21일 오후 6시 유튜브 샐러드 극단 채널과 대학로 마로니에 야외극장에서 온라인 생방송 형식으로 동시 진행되며, 공연 당일 한국에 입국하지 못한 단원들은 ZOOM으로 연결돼 공연에 참여할 예정이다. 몽골과 필리핀, 한국에 거주하고 있는 단원들이 ZOOM을 통해 연결되고 이 화면은 대학로 마로니에 야외극장 무대에 설치된 대형 LED 모니터를 통해 관객을 만난다. 마로니에 야외무대 공연과 ZOOM 화상회의 영상은 실시간 편집돼 유튜브 샐러드 극단 채널을 통해 송출될 예정이다. 박경주 연출이 직접 사회를 볼 예정인 ‘생존일기’ 온라인 생방송 공연에 단원들 모두 참여할 수 있을지 아직 불투명하다. 왜냐하면 팬데믹은 아직 종료되지 않았기 때문이다. 즉 우리 모두 끝까지 살아남아 있을지 아직 불확실하다.

이 밖에도 단원들이 함께 공동 창작한 관객 참여 퍼포먼스 ‘숨을 쉬어라’, 박경주 연출의 시청각 대본 ‘리빙 스크립트’ 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 구성된다.
