After artist Park Kyong Ju created a fictional character, a Thai immigrant woman poet, Chirapa, she wrote a fake story about the poet’s death after being beaten by her husband, and published it in an alternative Internet media company she runs. Park Kyong Ju deliberately wrote articles to deceive readers as if she had covered an actual event, and dealt with human rights issues of migrant women that would occur in the real world. The artist saved her article as an image, printed it out, and displayed it in the exhibition hall. The title of the work, ‘My wings are folded and I can’t fly’ is derived from a poem by a fictional poet, Chirapa. The photo of Chirapa in the article is the face of the artist.

작가 박경주가 가상의 인물인 태국 출신 이주여성 시인 찌라파를 창조하고 난후, 시인이 남편에게 구타당해 숨진 사건을 가짜 기사로 작성하여 자신이 운영하는 인터넷 대안언론사에 기사화했다. 박경주는 마치 실제 발생한 사건을 취재한 것처럼 독자들을 속이는 글을 의도적으로 작성하여 현실 세계에서 발생할 법한 이주여성의 인권 문제를 주제로 다뤘다. 기사는 이미지로 저장된 후에 인쇄물로 출력되어 전시장에 전시됐다. 작품의 제목 ‘ 내 날개는 접혀 날 수 없다’는 가상의 인물 찌라파 시인의 시구다. 기사 속 찌라파의 사진은 작가의 얼굴이다.
