Context: ‘Immigration’ is installation work showing the realities of foreign laborers living in Korea in a documentary approach. The motif  selected is the voices laborers calling home, pictures of their collective lodging, various documents they have to fill out to travel in and out Korea, and their interview cards. These are evidence to the human rights issues they are facing in the Korean society.

작품 설명: <이주>는 한국에서 생활하는 외국인 노동자의 현실을 다큐멘터리의 형식으로 보여주는 설치 작품이다. 책상 위의 수화기를 들면 고향에 있는 가족과 통화하는 외국인 노동자들의 목소리가 들리고, 이들이 집단으로 거주하는 숙박장소를 담은 사진도 설치되어 있다. 모니터에서는 단속반에 걸린 미등록 외국인을 면담하는 장면이 상영되고, 한국사회에서 겪는 인권문제들을 보여주는 구체적 증거자료들이 함께 전시된다. 이 자료들은 한국에서 생활하는 외국인 노동자들에게는 일상적인 것이지만 일반인들에게는 접하기 힘든 것들이다. 작가는 이 설치작품을 통해 우리에게 잘 알려지지 않은 외국인 노동자들의 상황을 있는 그대로 보여줌으로써, 우리가 살고 있는 사회의 한쪽에서 일어나고 있는 관심 밖의 일들에 대한 관심을 호소한다.
